Mr Yassin Haroun
Yassin Haroun is a PhD student working with Apotheker on the Afya-Tek project. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Yassin is an ethnographer and anthropologist of health and digital technology. He integrates anthropological insights to understand digital health projects from the socio-cultural perspective of users. On this basis, Yassin continues to foster a sense of interdisciplinarity in the field of global/public health. In addition to being a PhD student, he is also an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Dar es Salaam. His thematic expertise focuses on social and reproductive health, digital health, social welfare and socio-economic empowerment.
